No destination on Earth rivals the Serengeti. Spanning 14,763 km² of endless savanna, it hosts the greatest wildlife spectacle in the world — the annual Great Migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest.

The Serengeti offers world-class game viewing all year, with lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and giraffes roaming freely across its vast plains and riverine forests.

Tanzania Seasonal Guide

June – October

Dry Season

The best overall time for wildlife — animals concentrate around water sources, vegetation is low and visibility is excellent. River crossings happen July–September.

November – December

Short Rains

Brief afternoon showers keep things green and lush. Excellent for birdwatching, great value lodge rates and far fewer tourists in the parks.

January – February

Calving Season

The wildebeest calving in southern Serengeti and Ndutu is one of nature's greatest events — predators gather in huge numbers for the feast.

March – May

Long Rains

Heavier rains bring out dramatic skies and incredible greenery. Some camps close but prices drop significantly and the parks are very quiet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a visa to visit Tanzania?
+
Most nationalities can obtain a Tanzania visa on arrival or as an e-visa online before travel. The fee is typically $50–$100 USD. We provide full visa guidance to every client after booking and can connect you with resources to apply in advance.
Can I combine multiple destinations in one trip?

Absolutely — this is what we specialize in. A classic combination is 3-day safari + Kilimanjaro climb + Zanzibar beach. We design seamless itineraries with all transfers and logistics handled by our team on the ground.
Is Tanzania safe for travelers?
+
Tanzania is one of the safest countries in Africa for tourism. The tourism regions — Arusha, Moshi, Serengeti, Zanzibar — are well-established and secure. Our guides and drivers are with you throughout your trip, ensuring your safety at all times.
What vaccinations do I need?
+
Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended. We suggest consulting your GP or travel clinic 6–8 weeks before departure for a full health checklist.
